Camelot Playstation Units
Camelot Playstation units had been exactly the same for years, and they were looking for an innovative solution to attract more attention and enhance campaign activity. Any solution needed to be cost effective; no item could be "stuck" to the unit; and items needed to fit within existing mailing packs.

ISSUE
Camelot’s Playstation units had remained unchanged for several years, and there was a growing need to revitalise their appearance to boost in-store engagement and support ongoing campaign activity. The challenge was to devise a creative enhancement that would breathe new life into the units without incurring significant additional costs. Any proposed solution also had to adhere to strict parameters: it could not involve attaching items with adhesives or permanent fixtures, and it needed to be compact enough to fit within existing mailing packs for efficient distribution.
GOAL
The objective was to design and implement a lightweight, impactful addition to the existing Playstation Unit — something that would increase visibility and interaction without altering the unit's core structure or logistical processes.
SOLUTION
We introduced the "Tax Disc Topper" — a clever and cost-effective addition that made use of previously unused space above one of the existing point-of-sale (POS) sections of the unit. During development, we explored various configurations and created a range of prototypes to test attachment methods. Ultimately, we engineered a design that could be effortlessly secured using two pre-existing screws on the unit, eliminating the need for adhesives or structural modification.
The topper was precision cut from a simple die, ensuring it was both durable and economical to produce. Critically, the final design fit neatly within Camelot’s standard mailing packs, making distribution seamless and avoiding any increase in postal costs.
Following its initial success, the Tax Disc Topper has become a recurring feature across multiple Camelot campaigns. Its ease of use, striking visibility, and compliance with operational requirements have made it an invaluable addition to the Playstation Unit, delivering consistent impact and refreshed appeal at retail level
